Individual Therapy is time specifically focused on you. It involves a joint process between your therapist and you. The therapeutic process is intended to inspire change or improve your quality of your life. People often seek individual therapy for help with issues that are hard to face alone.

Through our work in individual therapy, deep and lasting emotional, psychological and energetic healing is possible. My approach integrates a traditional therapeutic relationship that is built on connection and trust with the use of cutting-edge experiential techniques. You can learn to access the innate and intuitive wisdom of your mind, body and energy. With support, you can also learn to harness and cultivate your gifts, heal and recover from past emotional hurts and gain valuable tools/skills. Let’s explore what is possible.

Finding the ‘Right fit’

Finding the ‘right fit’ with a therapist is important. Finding the ‘right fit’ means the therapist’s approach, style, demeanor, experience and specializations align with your needs and feels ‘right’ for you. When you have the ‘right fit’ with your therapist, it can greatly impact your experience and success in achieving your goals.

There are many great therapists in Georgia, but it doesn’t mean they are all ‘right’ for you. Do your research, read their websites and request an initial call to get a sense of them. You may actually have to try several to find the ‘right fit.’ Don’t get discouraged, it can be a process but worth it when you find the one for you.

If you have never tried therapy previously, I am so excited you found me. If you’ve been in therapy previously, I am excited you are open to trying something new and different. It takes a lot of courage to enter into therapy. So I want you to know how much I appreciate you reading this far into my website.

Therapy with me includes the traditional therapeutic relationship and talking, but it also includes much more. I use cutting edge techniques that allow access to deeper parts of the mind, body and spirit.

As you continue your search for the ‘right fit’ therapist, there is an additional factor I invite you to consider when choosing a therapist. This is a more nuanced competence and sometimes you have to work with someone for a time to determine their level of ethical practice and clinical acumen.

The National Association for Social Workers Code of Ethics is generally considered the most expansive and comprehensive in the mental health field. I am extremely proud to be a social worker; I firmly adhere to and often exceed the highest standards of ethical practice of my profession. Respecting the inherent dignity and worth of all persons is one of my personal and professional core values. It is my intention to uphold safe, inclusive and non-discrimination policies in my practice. I aim to create a welcoming atmosphere, treat each person in a caring and respectful fashion, and be mindful of individual differences and cultural and ethnic diversity.

Differences may include ability, age, appearance, ethnicity, family/marital/relationship status, gender identity and expression, immigration status, military/veteran status, nationality, political ideology, race, religion/spirituality, sex, sexuality, economic status, personal identities and experiences.

Central to maintaining an effective and ethical practice, I am continually working to enhance my own clinical competence with ongoing training, supervision, along with cultural competence through self-awareness, cultural humility and a commitment to understanding and embracing culture and diversity. If what you have read so far resonates with you, the next step is talk with me to see if I am the ‘right fit’ for you. Contact me if you are ready for a refreshing and new type of therapy experience.

Your emotional and physical well-being is important, make a commitment to yourself and get the most out of every session by being on time.  Some of our most meaningful moments in life are about showing up and being present.

  • Be advised that everything you may seek counseling for is not necessarily covered by insurance companies. If you wish to claim out-of-network reimbursement for sessions, please speak with your therapist about the criteria for doing so and request a “superbill” receipt. See below for more on how to access “Out-of-Network Insurance Benefits.”

At Essential Connections, Lisa Reid chooses to be “out-of-network” and offers over 25 years of experience, state-of-the-art methods, advanced skills, specialized services and personalized care. Lisa does not subscribe to an “illness” based medical model and chooses not to be hindered by session limits or insurance restrictions on treatment methods or diagnosis codes. By seeing an out-of-network provider, you benefit from cutting edge methods based in the latest neuroscience and clinical research that support a holistic, integrative mind-body-spirit approach to care.

  • Notice to Clients and Prospective Clients:

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

    • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. The GFE is simply an estimate and an overview of what it could cost to receive psychotherapy services with your provider.

    • You can ask your health care provider and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.

    • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have a right to dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, call Essential Connections at (470) 202-4852 or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
